belongs
to the people
«Искусство принадлежит народу. Оно должно уходить своими глубочайшими корнями в самую толщу широких трудящихся масс... Оно должно объединять чувство, мысль и волю этих масс, подымать их. Оно должно пробуждать в них художников и развивать их.»
Владимир Ильич Ленин
«Art belongs to the people. It must leave its deepest roots in the very thick of the working masses. It should be understood for the masses and loved by them. It must unite the feelings, thoughts and the will of the masses and raise them. It should awaken artists in them and develop them»
Vladimir Lenin

Meeting in the city of artists
I associate May with the Volga, flowers and the sun of the south of Russia. The idea of the fourth festival "Excuse me, have you seen Mr. Losev?" is reminder to people of the value and fragility of the world; of friendship which overcomes state borders, religious and cultural codes; of creativity which making world less cruel and cynical, filling it with harmony and meanings.

The legend of the sunny artist
The project is based on a beautiful legend and a story about the sunny painter Victor Losev, who painted citizens and the city on the plain-air. It forced us to overcome one thousand kilometers and to create together with artists from other cities on streets of Volgograd. Collective art changed weather — clouds cleared away, and the May rain yielded to the Sun.

Symbols and meanings of May
The festival offers to get acquainted with the non-military history of Volgograd, which is imprinted in works of Victor Losev and artists - our contemporaries living and creating nearby. He brought new audience to workshops, exhibitions and museums. People began to be interested more in art as a type of activity and a way to improve the world.
